READ MORESusan is the founder and president of Growing Minds, a non-profit organization whose mission is to guide teachers and students to use social and emotional skills, particularly mindfulness strategies, to increase emotional self-management and positivity, and reduce reactivity and negativity, resulting in calmer classrooms and kinder school communities. Through Growing Minds, Susan has been a pioneer in bringing these strategies to Milwaukee area schools and businesses. She is making a positive impact on the Milwaukee community, providing access to these simple, yet powerful skills, regardless of one’s background, using the same skills that have benefitted her. Susan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in Communication and Studio Art and a Masters of Management from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University (1987). In addition, she has worked at Xerox Corporation in sales, and in real estate departments of Prudential Life Insurance and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance.
